As we approach the end of another year, we are reaching out to you on behalf of Catholic Charities Community Services of Rockland to share a story that underscores the profound impact of your support and to ask for your continued generosity.
Food – it’s a basic necessity, yet for many in our community, it remains a daily struggle. While many of us are blessed with the comfort of a warm meal every day, there are countless individuals and families in Rockland who face the uncertainty of where their next meal will come from. At Catholic Charities Community Services of Rockland, we believe that no one should go hungry, especially when food is so essential for not just survival, but for a person’s overall well-being and ability to thrive.
Let us share with you the story of the Martinez family (name changed for privacy) – a testament to the difference your support can make.
Earlier this year, Maria Martinez approached our center, it was obvious she was consumed with worry. A single mother of three, Maria had recently lost her job due to the pandemic and was struggling to put food on the table. The weight of providing for her children without a steady income was taking a toll on her mental and emotional well-being. Thanks to the generous contributions of supporters like you, we were able to provide the Martinez family with nutritious meals and connect Maria with resources to help her get back on her feet. Today, Maria has a new job, and her children, once anxious and uncertain, now have the energy and focus they need for their studies and daily activities. The simple act of ensuring they had food brought hope and stability back to their lives.
This is just one of the many stories that unfold at Catholic Charities Community Services of Rockland every day. The need is vast, and we cannot provide support alone.
As we reflect on the year gone by and look forward to the promise of a new year, I humbly ask you to consider making a year-end donation to our cause. One hundred percent of your contribution will go directly towards ensuring that families like the Martinez’s don’t go to bed hungry and can look forward to a future filled with hope and opportunity.
Food is essential. It’s more than just sustenance; it’s a symbol of love, care, and community. Together, we can ensure that everyone in Rockland has access to this basic human right.
Thank you for your continued support and for being a beacon of hope for those in need. Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed holiday season and a joyful New Year.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Joan Facelle, Board Chair Dan Eudene, Executive Director
